The Korea Haul - SkinFood

Prior to the trip to Seoul, I had already been to the SkinFood outlets in Singapore to browse around and tried to identify the few real gems. Well, not that it helped..... when I stepped into an outlet for real in Seoul. I pretty much just went crazy!!

Starting off with the cleansers:

Wildberry Milk Cleansing Cream (Moist):
I only bought the cream cleanser because it was so cheap at about S$5.30 and also because I have been thinking about trying them for a while. I loved it!! Started using it when I got back to Singapore and I hasn't stopped since. It has taken over the Ponds Cold cream as my daily makeup remover.  

Green Tea Milk Cleansing Cream (Fresh):
I am keeping this in the back-room for a while but I am having high hopes for this based on my love affair with their Wildberry Milk! :-)

And then the toners:

Thermal Water Multi Toner:
I had high hopes since I loved the mask sheet under the same series, but I am still a little on the fence about this. It's not a bad toner, I am just not sure that I love it. But price wise, it's pretty reasonable at S$11.30 so I can't complain much.

And the other skin-care stuff :

The Craze of the CC Creams

This is going to the first posts out of a series featuring my makeup/skin-care haul in Seoul Korea. It took a while but I finally had the chance to gather everything together for the first post. Starting with my favorite makeup category from the trip - the CC creams!!

So what exactly is a CC cream??!! It is basically a color control cream - think BB creams with additional color control properties. It's meant to apply without the gray tint that's normal for BB creams and will impart a radiance to the skin lasting the entire day. Here are my loots:

Holika Holika Real Skin Finish:

This has totally replaced foundation in my everyday makeup routine!! Upon application, it gives a slight white cast but give it time and you will be amazed at how good your skin looks. For me, it does exactly what the name says - a miracle real skin finish!! Absolute love!!

Banila Co: it Radiant CC Cream:

Another star product from the trip! Skin looks like it's lit from within while still being natural. Major hearts!! It contains only about 30ml of product in a tube so definitely to stock up on in my next trip to Korea. 

Missha Complexion Coordinating BB Cream: 

I stepped into the shop fully set on buying their BB cream since it's the top selling BB cream in Korea only to get talked into this by the SA. Her reason - it's basically Missha BB cream with improved technology to color control properties. I got talked into it and no surprise - absolute love as well!! This is something I highly recommend not only because of how good it looks on the skin but also because of the high SPF. This is especially important for us girls residing in sunny Singapore where the sun has no mercy!! :-)

Nature Republic Super Origin Complete Control Cream:

 This is the only CC cream in the lot that I haven't got round to trying. I am riding on the high from all my positive CC creams experience so far, so I am having high hopes for this. Stay tune for updates!

Faceshop Aura Color Control Cream:

This is something that I have tried from the Faceshop in Singapore previously. Loved it and backups needed. Not to mention that the prices in Korea is half of what we pay in Singapore.

Mega Korean and USA Haul: The USA Chapter

Hi all, I am back!! Back from a 10 days whirlwind business trip to both South Korea and Oregon in the United States!! Boy oh boy, did I spend my hard earned money like crazy!

I haven't been to Korea in many years... So I went a little too crazy in the land of the BB creams and loaded up big time on the makeup and skincare. Hence, I decided to first start with my haul in USA... which is... urm.... a little bit more manageable! *sheepish grin*

Starting off with my favourite purchase - The Urban Decay Ammo Palette! I got it for USD$14 in Nordstrom Rack and it's an absolute steal!!

And the big purchase I made for this trip has to be the Clarisonic Mia! I wasn't too impressed with my first Clarisonic but it might be due to my horrible skin condition right when I got started. But just when I was ready to dust off my machine and give it another go, it died on me!! So I decided to buy a second Mia to give myself another go at it!

And now for the best part of the trip in US - the drugstore!!

Sheet Mask Frenzy

In Asia, we have a major love affair with sheet masks!! And I mean MAJOR! Sure, I have tubes of wash-off masks and I do use them every now and then. But speak to any Asian woman and you would know just how fanatic we are with our sheet masks. The convenience, the variety and the affordability... It's mind boggling with the sheer amount of variety and beauty claims it make. 

And I took it upon myself to try out some of the latest sheet mask offerings from Faceshop.

NOTD: Faceshop Steel Navy Gradation Nails and Random Life Bits

I love gradient nails. This is probably the only real nail trend that got me excited. I mean the possibilities are basically endless!! The only real trouble is sitting down and fishing out colors that will complement each other for a nail look. Faceshop took the problem out of matching colors for a gradient manicure in their nifty little gradation art nails pack.

I picked out 2 different colors from the range but decided to give the silvery blue pack a go first. Application is a breeze and I really like the finished look!! Can't comment on the longevity yet since I am only into day 2 of wear. I am only wearing 1 coat of each polish in the picture above so the polish is actually quite pigmented. Overall, I do highly reccommend the steel navy gradation nails from Faceshop for the finished look and the ease of application.


And on a totally random note, I managed to get some time out for yoga classes today!! Major score! Here is my mug shot in the changing room!

My Morning Skincare Routine

The morning skincare lineup!

L-R: Avene Lotion Micellaire, Faceshop - the smim Fermented Concentrated Total Treatment, Avalon Organics Hydrating Toner, Plante System Eye Contour, Origins Make a Different Plus Rejuvenating Treatment.

Avene Lotion Micellarie: 

First thing that I would do for my face in the morning - a quick wipe-down to remove all the gunk that has accumulated while I was sleeping. This is favourite skincare step in the morning and honestly the best that I have ever used for my skin. This deserves an entire post by itself!!

Faceshop the smim Fermented Concentrated Total Treatment:

After cleansing my face, it's time to move on to the actual skincare. This lotion has some bold claims for the skin and it's meant to be applied before your toner to enhance the absorption of all subsequent products. It is reccommened to be applied with a cotton pad but my personal preference is to pour some onto my palms and then lightly tapped onto my face. 

Avalon Organics Hydrating Toner: 
I bought this in a bid to try and use products that are more natural but in the end I really like this toner. It's probably one of the most hydrating toner I have ever used before. Definitely a re-purchase after I am done with this bottle. 



Plante System Eye Contour:
Simple, straight-up eye gel.



Origins Make a Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment:
Last but not least, slap on some moisturizer and I am ready to move onto makeup. I like this day cream but man.... What a mouthful for it's name!!
