I love gradient nails. This is probably the only real nail trend that got me excited. I mean the possibilities are basically endless!! The only real trouble is sitting down and fishing out colors that will complement each other for a nail look. Faceshop took the problem out of matching colors for a gradient manicure in their nifty little gradation art nails pack.

I picked out 2 different colors from the range but decided to give the silvery blue pack a go first. Application is a breeze and I really like the finished look!! Can't comment on the longevity yet since I am only into day 2 of wear. I am only wearing 1 coat of each polish in the picture above so the polish is actually quite pigmented. Overall, I do highly reccommend the steel navy gradation nails from Faceshop for the finished look and the ease of application.

And on a totally random note, I managed to get some time out for yoga classes today!! Major score! Here is my mug shot in the changing room!

Couldn't resist another shot of my nails while waiting for the class to commence.

Have you tried similar offerings from any other shops? Let me know how it goes. And thanks for reading on this breezy Tuesday night. XOXO!

My Morning Skincare Routine

The morning skincare lineup!

L-R: Avene Lotion Micellaire, Faceshop - the smim Fermented Concentrated Total Treatment, Avalon Organics Hydrating Toner, Plante System Eye Contour, Origins Make a Different Plus Rejuvenating Treatment.

Avene Lotion Micellarie:
First thing that I would do for my face in the morning - a quick wipe-down to remove all the gunk that has accumulated while I was sleeping. This is favourite skincare step in the morning and honestly the best that I have ever used for my skin. This deserves an entire post by itself!!

Faceshop the smim Fermented Concentrated Total Treatment:
After cleansing my face, it's time to move on to the actual skincare. This lotion has some bold claims for the skin and it's meant to be applied before your toner to enhance the absorption of all subsequent products. It is reccommened to be applied with a cotton pad but my personal preference is to pour some onto my palms and then lightly tapped onto my face.

Avalon Organics Hydrating Toner:
I bought this in a bid to try and use products that are more natural but in the end I really like this toner. It's probably one of the most hydrating toner I have ever used before. Definitely a re-purchase after I am done with this bottle.

Plante System Eye Contour:
Simple, straight-up eye gel.

Origins Make a Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment:
Last but not least, slap on some moisturizer and I am ready to move onto makeup. I like this day cream but man.... What a mouthful for it's name!!

Thanks for reading on this slow Monday night. Here's to Tuesday and good night!! XOXO!

Nail Polish Obsession Tag

Note to self - Do not attempt to blog when cranky from the time of the month. Haha! I was just reading through my last entry and geez.... I sounded like I was forced to type through the cramps. LOL! So to makeup for that, I am coming back with one of my favourite tags of all time - The nail polish obsession tag. Here it goes....

1. What is your favourite nail polish company? Faceshop. I know some people have problems applying their nail polishes but I seem to be doing ok so far. Add to that, the wide range of colors and un-beatable price range. I am constantly going back for more!!
Face&it nail polish

2. Glitter or no glitter? No glitter and preferably cream polishes. Sure, I love a glitter polish every now and then but I prefer cream polishes with my style. I probably said it all with my picture below... A sea of creamy colors.... :-)

3. OPI, China Glaze or Essie? Essie. I think they all have great formula and ease of application, so it's really down to the individual's taste. I like colors but yet I still prefer it to be somewhat work appropriate and chic at the same time. Nothing garish and nothing that screams 'look at me'! And Essie hits right on the spot for me! Just look at all the colors I have picked out below!!

4. When do you change your nail polish? Honestly, no set time. Mostly over the weekends but nothing stops me from painting my nails if I am in the mood for it.

5. What's your favourite color on your nails? Bourjois 1 Second Gel in Bleu Water. Amazing formula. Best cornflower blue I have seen so far. Shiny finish even without a topcoat. A real cliche comment but I can't stop staring at my nails with this color on!

6. Darks or brights? Definitely dark. Case in point - my all time favourite colors are actually a basic black polish and a blackened red from Revlon. Proudly showing my well loved Revlon Lingerie Black and Vixen below:

7. What are you wearing on your nails this very moment? Nothing. My nails are all set for a nice relaxing manicure session later this evening.

8. Matte nails - in or out? I like matte nails when it is used as an accent for a manicure. But have never really appreciated the full-on matte nails trend.

9. French manicure? Absolute love!! There are so many manicure tutorials out there with slight variations of the frenchie. My favourite is probably the ones with the glitter tips since that's the only ones I can manage. My jittery fingers can never paint a decent white tip.

10. Favourite colors for upcoming season? China Glaze Sea Spray, OPI La Paz-itively Hot, OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do it, OPI Sand in my Suit.

Thanks for reading. XOXO!!

Empties - Chapter 1

Yay!! I actually amassed a decent size of empties to share!

Empties productsOverview of all the empties accumulated.

Faceshop Rosemary Facial Mist - I used this to freshen up my makeup throughout the day.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - Mini samples which I am using up before breaking into my new bottle of ANR.

ROC Retonol Correxion Eye Cream - I love this eye cream! I picked this up while in USA but sadly it's not available in SGP.
Carmex lipbalm - This works better on me compared to Burts Bee or Blistex. Luckily I still have a few tubs to go through.

Avene Thermal Water - Part of my regular skincare routine.
The Body Shop - Olive Body Scrub. My favourite out of all the Body Shop offerings and this is my 2nd tub.

Laneige Balancing Emulsion 1 - A really lovely day moisturizer which I am definitely going to re-purchase.
Laneige Pore Tightening Essence - Skip this. I couldn't see anything happening on my face at all. Nada!!

Thanks for reading and hope everyone is having a great Saturday! XOXO!

Review: Barry M Jelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Lychee

I went, I saw and I bought!
Yes, it's the highly raved about Barry M jellies in Lychee. There were some other colors but I decided to be good and just get ONE so as not to continue growing my already monstrous stash of nail polish.

I was wearing 2 coats in my pictures but it was opaque enough if you wanted to just stop at 1 coat. Texture wise - it's a little thicker compared to their regular nails paints so application can be a little tricky. One thing definitely worth mentioning was that it managed to stay on my nails for 5 days with no chipping! That's pretty impressive in my opinion. I consider it a score if a polish can stay on my nails for 3 days with no chipping.

Upon application, 2 nail colors from Faceshop came to mind!!

L-R: Barry M Lychee, Faceshop BR 801, Faceshop BR802

Almost thought I had some dupes of Lychee in my stash. Nope - BR801 is a tad too light and BR802 is way too dark compared to Lychee. Sorry girls...... :-/

Thanks for reading and hopefully you had a great week! XOXO!

Sasa Haul

Just when I thought Sasa is getting boring, I spotted the beauty blender sitting on it's shelves!! O.M.G!

Since I missed the chance of picking this up when I last saw this in San Francisco, I have been kicking myself in the butt. This set of beauty blender sponge and cleanser retails for SGD$49.90. It's probably more expensive compared to ordering it online but nothing beats instant gratification. I have since broken into it and tried it out with my CC cream. Not too bad at all I must say for the first time!!

And some other things fell into my basket while I was in the shop.

Avene thermal spring water has been a regular part of my skin-care routine - so just topping up my supplies here. But what on earth did I wanna do with so many packs of cotton puffs?!!
I used to DIY my own facial masks for a while but stopped when work got in the way. Now that I have started exercising and eating right, I thought it's time to revert back to a more holistic approach to skin-care. I was on the hunt for some good cotton puffs which I can use  with my DIY masks and hence the cotton puff craze over here. I have been trying them out with cucumber masks for the past few days. Rather pleased with the results. Shall experiment a little more before sharing my experience here.

It's Monday again.... Hope it's been a good start to the week for all. Thanks for reading. XOXO.

Currently on Rotation - Chapter 1

Some new stuff that I am currently trying out in my daily makeup routine.

Maybelline Eyestudio in Flash of Forest. Skip this! Honestly!! I have formed my opinion even before a full fledge trial. It's meant to be a cream to powder finish eyeshadow. But the colour payoff is just so disappointing that all I see is a sea of shimmer. I am just glad that it's not too expensive since I got it in the US. I am really just not very impressed with Maybelline on their shadows.

Faceshop FaceIT Aura Color Control Cream. The next wave after BB cream - CC cream. It was peddled as the top selling product in Korea and that got me!! I have only used it a couple of times so not too decided on whether I am impressed by it yet. But lookout for this space, I should come back with a review soon.

Palladio Rice Powder in Translucent. Yup, its the much talked about Palladio rice powder. I kinda feel I am late on this bandwagon!! Haha.  I am still neutral towards this powder. Was expecting to be wowed over but I am just finding this an ok product for now. Things have a way of turning on me - so judgement reserved for now.

Anyhow, this is the 5th or 6th time I am trying to put up this post. Onsugar changed their settings and started to filter out my blog posts as spam. Hopefully, they have fixed my problem once and for all. Thanks for reading and good night. XOXO.

I think I over-indulged........

No kidding!! I bought all these nail polishes within a span of maybe 6 weeks. Over-indulgence at it's best!! It's the weekend again! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend ahead! XOXO
